Region: Yarra Valley
The Yarra Yering vineyard was planted in 1969 at the foot of the Warramate Hills in Victoria’s Yarra Valley by Dr Bailey Carrodus. In 1973 Dr Carrodus produced the first commercial vintage of wine in the Yarra since the early 1920’s.
The wines are made in the Carrodus built winery with purpose built equipment small batch fermentation & hand pressing in the small basket press.
Over the past 40 years Yarra Yering has earned an international reputation as a consistent producer of fine wines. Dr Carrodus died in 2008 but the traditions he established are being built upon by Paul Bridgeman, the winemaker he appointed in the months before his death, and the vineyard staff who have tended the vines at Yarra Yering for the past 30 years.
